About the International Journal of African Studies
The International Journal of African Studies (IJAS), previously the Journal of Human Relations (since 1952), publishes original and assessed research, book reviews, review articles, and commentary on previously published articles. The International Journal of African Studies (ISBN 1092-6399) is published twice a year by the National Resource Center for African Studies (CAS) at Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio.
IJAS is multi-disciplinary, and invites articles of scholarship on socio-cultural issues, history, and economic and political praxes relating to Africa, and to African connections through its diaspora.

Manuscripts should follow MLA style, and should not be more than 30 pages in length, including notes and references. After accepting a manuscript for publication, the editors will request a copy on computer disk compatible with Microsoft Word 6.0.

Following the model of the “Loeb” series for bilingual Greek and Latin classics, and the “Islamic Translation Series,” this series attempts to make available to the Western reader, Africana classics of written and oral traditions. Two texts are under press.
